Everyone behind the bid!

In this final stretch, all the key players in the region are mobilised around Rouen Seine Normande 2028. In recent weeks, several meetings have been organised to enable our partners to reaffirm their support for our bid.

Business club breakfast

On Friday 10 November, 40 business clubs, representing more than 6,000 companies and 24,000 artisans in the region, met at MIX in Rouen to show their support.

These businesses support the reconciliation project that we are defending. Present throughout the project area, they bring a wealth of expertise and skills to the table, and are mobilising employees and stakeholders alongside us: they have a vital role to play in the bid process.

Since 2022, a dozen companies have supported ‘prototype’ projects such as dressing up the AKA puppet, setting up the Adventure Park and organising the Urban Jam. This support comes in various forms: financial, in kind (loan or donation of equipment), contribution of skills (expertise, provision of staff), etc. with HAROPA, la MATMUT pour les Arts, le SMEDAR, la Caisse des dépôts, la Fédération Française du Bâtiment Métropole & territoires, la CARSAT, Eco-technilin, LAGUERRE Groupe, Fabrick Agile, VIAM, Arkose…

Café capitale

On Tuesday 14 November, 28 days before the results were announced, more than a hundred people from the world of culture were with us at Hangar 107: artists, collectives, associations, museums, galleries, festivals, theatres and many more!

It was an opportunity to discuss once again the artistic programme presented in our application submitted to the Ministry of Culture on 3 November. More than twenty major projects were at the heart of our discussions.

Europe

Thanks to Hanover for its support!

And thanks to Norwich.

Youth

One of the key principles of our candidacy is to give everyone the power to act, by allowing anyone who wants to to embark on the adventure. The issues surrounding youth, participation, inclusion and accessibility are therefore at the heart of our reflections.

The last few weeks have been an opportunity to reaffirm this position, with the team taking part in various events organised around these themes.

Nuit des étudiants du monde – 18 october

Organised by the City of Rouen, the event brought together several hundred international students. The aim was to welcome those who were going to spend a few months studying in Rouen, and to introduce them to the city!

By running a joint stand with the Camille Saint-Saëns BTS in Tourism, we were able to reach out to these students, offering them a workshop on welcome, hospitality and what a European capital of culture should be.

The richness of these cultural encounters inspires us and resonates with our project!

                APOGÉES meetings – 9 November

We were present at the 4th edition of the APOGÉES Meetings, to present our project. On the programme: a day of exchanges with players in the social economy on the theme of “Culture & Sport: accelerators for social inclusion in the regions?

                Les Zazimuts – 16 November

Les Zazimuts is the City of Rouen’s student life label, which puts the spotlight on student associations. Free, fun and innovative events, evenings, concerts, films, visits, a broom-ball tournament… A merry bazaar for students and young people from Rouen to discover the city’s student life.

It was only natural that we should have a stand there to present our candidacy.

Collège Jules Verne – 20 November

The Jules Verne secondary school in Déville Lès Rouen is supporting the bid, with almost 400 students taking part, and we’d like to thank Karolina Rachakova (České Budějovice 2028) for joining us!

Meetings with the ISD Flaubert and ISCOM – 30 November

Poetry, video, stand-up… thank you to the young students from ISD Flaubert and ISCOM Rouen, as well as to the members of the Normandy Press and Communication Club, who took part in the game on Thursday 30 November! They put forward their visions and dreams for Rouen Seine Normande 2028. Everyone together!

Sport

                ROUEN’ning – 25 November

On Saturday 25 November, a race in the colours of our bid took place!

After a one-kilometre warm-up, the participants ran twice 2028 metres: a symbolic figure for our bid and a way of affirming the link between sport and culture.

The Dragons de Rouen behind the bid

On Wednesday 29 November, we were present at the Rouen Dragons’ match in the quarter-finals of the French Cup to fly the flag for our bid!

On the programme: distribution of badges and decoration in the colours of Rouen Seine Normande.

QRM in the colours of Rouen Seine Normande 2028

QRM shows its support for the Rouen Seine Normande 2028 bid!

The Rouen Seine Normande logo was displayed on the left sleeve of the home shirt against Valenciennes (0-0) and Bordeaux (3-2). With a draw and a fine victory, this bodes well for the future!

                Rouen Handball

A big thank you to the Rouen women’s handball team for wearing our colours on their shirts. With their second place in the Nationale 1 rankings, they are a credit to our bid!

Businesses

On 22 November, several hundred retailers were present at the Rouen Seine Normande 2028 welcome awards ceremony, and they too are committed to the project. A big well done to Mr and Mrs Talloir, who were presented with the town’s medal by the mayor, and more generally to all our businesses that bring life to our town.
